Thomas King Baker “Deserted Fair Ground” Abstract Ink Drawing


An ink drawing titled Deserted Fair Ground by the American artist Thomas King Baker (1911-1972). Unsigned, this abstract work depicts a woman standing at the base of a long set of stairs that lead up to a large structure flanked by statutes. Titled to the lower right, as well as marked "Back of 1st Panel," the drawing is displayed in a vintage brown and blue wooden frame and a cream mat. Baker was known for his works made on scrap paper; often from banks or insurance statements.

Condition notes:

Some toning to the paper. Scratches, scuffs, and flaking to the frame. Other age appropriate wear.
