Vincent Di Fate Oil on Board Science Fiction Illustration Painting for Isaac Asimov's "Space Garbage"


An oil on board illustration painting by the American artist Vincent Di Fate (born 1945). This highly detailed oil painting was used as the front cover art for Isaac Asimov's book Space Garbage, which was part of a 32 volume series titled Library of the Universe and published by Dell Yearling Books in 1989. The painting is displayed in an off-white and burgundy double mat and a vintage black wooden frame.

A prolific artist of science fiction illustrations and art, Vincent di Fate studied at the Phoenix School of Design in New York. Having produced over 3,000 published images, Di Fate's other numerous achievements include at one time serving as the President of the Society of Illustrators, as well as being awarded a Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist in 1979 and inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2011.
