A signed 1980 art glass perfume bottle by American artist William Carlson (born 1950). This handblown black and blue glass bottle is cut on two sides, exposing the center portion. Blue striping adorns the outside, with a green, blue, and gray striping design in the transparent center. A black circular stopper tops off this piece. Signed “William Carlson 1980” to the underside.

William Carlson studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and helped establish the school's first glass program. Carlson then attended Alfred University, receiving an MFA. His works can be found in many prestigious institutions, including the Smithsonian Institute, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and many more.

Condition notes:

Some age appropriate wear. Scratches to the underside. There are two small nicks to the front corner edge that can be felt when running a fingernail up the edge but that are not visible.
