An oil on canvas abstract painting by American artist Alice Valenstein (1904-2002). The bright yellow and orange floral still life is accented by shades of green, white, blue, red, and gray. Signed "Valenstein" to the lower right corner, the work is displayed in a black frame.
Alice Sternberg Valenstein attended Columbia University and Vienna Kunst-Akademie before settling down in New York long term. She was best known for abstract landscapes and interior compositions. Her work has been exhibited at numerous institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Krasner Gallery.
