Stevie Sputnik Collection

If you’ve been into our shop, you’ve probably heard us talk about how we do very little consignment and the majority of the consignment we do comes from a single person. That single person was Steve Cohen who often went by his business moniker, Stevie Sputnik. On December 3, 2021, Steve suddenly and tragically passed away. His passing was a shock to us and to countless Mid Century Modern enthusiasts, collectors, and dealers in Indianapolis and throughout the Midwest. 

For all who knew him, Steve was a walking encyclopedia on all things Mid Century Modern and was forever excited about learning more and sharing his knowledge with anyone who showed interest. A delightful aspect about Steve was that he truly loved hearing all about anyone’s latest finds or esoteric research minutiae regarding almost anything vintage and it was wonderful to have someone to share (and actually be interested in!) all the nerdiest information that we ran across.

We would often joke with Steve that at some point, we would have a section of our shop titled “The Stevie Sputnik Collection” to showcase all his consignment items with us. While we don’t have a particular space in our shop set up for this, we did make a “Stevie Sputnik Collection” on our website as a tribute to him. 

Steve was a constant presence in our lives and we feel his loss deeply.
