Marco Zanini Bitossi Postmodern Ceramic Teapot

A Postmodern ceramic teapot designed by Italian architect and designer Marco Zanini (born 1954) for Bitossi. This vessel is mint green in color and features an arrangement of two rectangular shapes on either end of one cylinder forming the body of the pot. A light blue handle arcs across the top while an S-shaped spout curves outward from one end. The underside of the piece is marked "Le Ceramiche Bitssoi by Flavia Montelupo Italy Designed by Marco Zanini."

Marco Zanini was born in Trento. He graduated in architecture from the University of Florence and furthered his studies in the USA. He began his collaboration with Ettore Sottsass in Milan in 1977. In 1981 he was one of the founders of the Memphis group, for which he designed. His designs are held in major museums and galleries worldwide.
