Free Appraisals

Sheafer + King Modern offers free in-person appraisals weekly by appointment on Saturdays from 1 pm to 4 pm at our Indianapolis gallery.  You may bring up to 5 items to be appraised.

Sheafer + King Modern will offer you fair-market valuations for your art, ceramics, art glass, collectibles, and Modern furniture.  From there we can assist you in finding the best way to insure your items, or bring your art to the marketplace in one of our auctions or in our gallery.

If you can't make it to our Indianapolis gallery location, please email photos of the items you are interested in having appraised along with any information you have about the item (artist and/or maker, dimensions, material and/or medium, condition, provenance, age, etc.) to andy@sheaferking.com.

Auctions

Our auctions are conducted every 2-3 months on our website and on the two most reputable international auction platforms: Liveauctioneers and Bidsquare.  We advertise our auctions nationally and have bidders from all over the world.

We offer very competitive consignment rates with no hidden fees.  All consigned art is sold with reserve, which means you are guaranteed that it will not sell below a price that we agree upon prior to the auction.

Gallery Consignment

We accept consignment to our gallery of works that match the style of art and design we sell.  We focus on Modern art from the 20th Century as well as art glass, ceramics, and exceptional designer furniture. 

When you consign with our gallery, your art will be for sale in the gallery as well as online on our website, and listed nationally on third-party websites where many of the world's top interior designers shop.  We started out as an online only business, and we still ship more paintings to NYC, Chicago, LA, and Miami than we sell in Indianapolis.

We are happy to assist you with finding the best way to sell your collection, whether at one of our auctions, through our gallery, or by connecting you with one of our colleagues if we feel they will help you better maximize value.
