Marco Zanini Bitossi “Hollywood” Postmodern Tea or Coffee Set

A Postmodern ceramic teapot with a matching sugar bowl and creamer designed by Italian architect and designer Marco Zanini (born 1954) for Bitossi. These vessels are white in color with the teapot featuring a dark pink semicircular handle on the body and small turquoise handle on the teapot’s lid. The sugar bowl features a dark pink circular handle on the lid with a small opening for a spoon. Each piece is marked “Le Ceramiche di Bitossi by Flavia Montelupo Italy Designed by Marco Zanini” to the underside.

Marco Zanini was born in Trento. He graduated in architecture from the University of Florence and furthered his studies in the USA. He began his collaboration with Ettore Sottsass in Milan in 1977. In 1981 he was one of the founders of the Memphis group, for which he designed. His designs are held in major museums and galleries worldwide.

Condition notes:

Some imperfections in the glaze. Small chip in teapot top of white circle accent. Some scratches/scuffs to underside.
