A limited edition serigraph print titled The Disciples by American artist Edie Harper (1922-2010). This print depicts four rows of figures in front of three stained glass windows. The colorful composition is set against a thin black striped background. Signed, titled, and numbered 480/750 along the bottom edge, this print is unframed with its original gallery sleeve.
Edie McKee Harper was born in Kansas in 1922. Her father got a job with Procter & Gamble, moving the family to Cincinnati. There, she attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati, taking color theory with fellow artists Josef Albers and Charley Harper, the latter she would marry in 1947. During World War II, the couple served for the Army, Charley as a solider and Edie as a photographer. She experimented with her medium, creating through painting, printmaking, photography, jewelry, sculpture, and textiles.
