A 1981 stonecut and stencil print by the Inuit Canadian artist Lucy Qinnuayuak (1915-1982). Signed to the bottom right and numbered 46/50, this piece features an Inuit figure facing off to a large bird in the snow, represented by a field of pale blue dividing the horizon. The work is unframed.
Lucy Qinnuayuak was an Inuit graphic artist and printmaker from Quebec. She’s best known for her depictions of stylized arctic birds and women in traditional Inuit roles. Her work has been used to promote the 1976 Summer Olympics and as part of the Senate of Canada’s Aboriginal art collection.

Condition notes:
Some foxing to the paper as well as some other areas of discoloration to the paper. Stain near the outstretched arm of the figure. Some wear to the bottom left corner of the paper. Minor wear to the paper around the edges.
