Marj Peeler Signed Studio Pottery Vase with Leaf Design

A stoneware vase by American ceramic artist Marjorie Marie Peeler (1926-2017). The vase is glazed in a light blue with darker blue and green striping. The center green stripe has a dark blue leaf pattern repeated around the vessel. The vase is signed “Peeler” on the underside.

Marjorie Peeler was a ceramic artist who worked closely with her husband Richard Peeler under the name "Peeler Pottery." Richard and Marj Peeler met in art class during their sophomore year at Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Together they were full time potters from 1972 until Richard’s death in 1998.

3.75” x 4.75” x 3.75”.

Condition notes:

Several very small pinpoints of glaze misses. Some scuffs to the underside. Small firing crack to the underside. Other age appropriate wear.
