A 1974 signed abstract oil on canvas painting by American artist Walter Stomps (1929-2020). Signed and dated "Stomps 74" to the lower right corner, the painting features an array of dark blue-gray and black shaded triangles and crescents. A pink crescent shape is depicted to the left of the work. The painting is displayed in a wooden frame with an artist tag verso.
Walter Stomps, Jr. was born in Ohio and lived in Kentucky later in life. He completed his education at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1959 and then taught at the Middletown Fine Arts Center, Dayton Arts Institute, and Western Kentucky University.
