A 1968 model 540/G designed by the Italian designer Gino Sarfatti (1912-1985) for Arteluce. Made in Italy, this lamp features a clear acrylic stand that holds a white round "eyeball" shade. The lamp's cord extends down and is attached to the acrylic stand. The interior of the white shade is marked "Made in Italy Arteluce."

 Born in Venice, Gino Sarfatti studied aeronaval engineering at Genoa and in 1936 established the infamous lighting company Arteluce. Sarfatti was the innovator of over 400 lighting fixtures during his 30 year career. He and his company were acknowledged with numerous awards and honors for their innovative and stylistic creations in lighting. They remain the definitive industry standard.

Condition notes:

Scuffs and scratches to metal shade and acrylic base. Some discoloration to the inside of the shade. Discoloration to cord. Powered on when tested.
