An abstract oil on canvas painting of a reclining nude by Hungarian-American artist Martin Friedman (1896-1981). A nude female figure is seen reclining across a green background with her blonde hair draped across her arm in this abstract work. Unsigned, the painting is displayed in a black wooden frame.

Martin Friedman was born in Budapest, Hungary, and moved to the United States in the 1950s where he attended the National Academy of Design in New York City. Friedman is well known for his illustration and abstract landscape work. He exhibited in the World's Fair, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum amongst many other notable institutions.

45.75” x 30.75” x 2” (frame); 45” x 30” (canvas).

Condition notes:

Pinholes in the canvas at the corners. Small corner tears in the canvas. A few very small stray black specks of paint on painting. Some scratches to the frame. Other age appropriate wear.
