Jens Quistgaard Dansk Staved Teak Slanted Cutting Carving Board

A slanted cutting/carving board designed by the Danish designer Jens Quistgaard (1919-2008) for Dansk. Made in Denmark, the staved teak tray has a curved design, rests on two feet, and is marked with the Dansk "Staved Teak" mark to the underside. 

After an early grounding in traditional handicrafts, Quistgaard began working as an industrial designer. Quistgaard was the head designer at Dansk Designs from 1954 through the 1980s. His tableware and kitchenware designs became synonymous with Scandinavian modern design and found their way into millions of homes in the USA, Europe and Japan. His work is held in museum collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, among others.

Condition notes:

Scratches and discolored scuffs present. There is a chip in the board on the edge as well as heavy scuffs mark on the edge.
