An mixed media painting by Japanese-American artist Reiko Sakagami Baum (1927-2021). Softly blended hues of blue, green, and purple intermingle in this ethereal Abstract Expressionist style painting. Brushwork impressions and light purple create the visual of a horses mane and anatomical features. The painting is stamped upon the stretcher “The Estate of Reiko Sakagami Baum (Japanese, 1927-2021)” verso and is framed in a black wooden frame.
Lifelong artist, Reiko Sakagami Baum was originally from Japan and was known for painting. She attended art school in New York where she met her future artist husband, Michael Baum. The Baum's owned a framing company before becoming the owners and horse breeders of Man O' War Farm in Lexington, KY, where they lived out their lives.

Condition notes:
Signs of age appropriate wear. Creasing to four corners from previous stretching. Dimpling on the upper and lower left and right borders. Craquelure present. Some water stains present to the verso of the canvas and to the stretcher. Minor wear to the frame.
