A 1970 embossed woodblock print by Japanese artist Haku Maki (1924-2000). Titled Poem 70-7 (R), the background of the print is black in color with a red kanji-inspired shape to the left of the composition. A blue circle is located to the lower right of the red design. The work is displayed in a black frame behind a cream mat. 

Haku Maki was a prolific Japanese artist of the 20th century. His birth name was Maejima Tadaaki but he selected the name Haku Maki in the late 1950s to go by. Many museums have Maki's work in their collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Portland Art Museum, Cincinnati Museum of Art, and the Cleveland Art Museum.

Condition notes:

Scratches and wear to frame. Chips in the back corners of the frame. Some creases and toning to the paper in the margins.
