Harold Altman Signed “City Figures II” Limited Edition Etching

A limited edition etching by the American artist Harold Altman (1924-2003). Titled City Figures II, this abstract work depicts groups of green figures standing and talking in a city setting. Signed to the lower right, the work is titled to the lower center and numbered 82/160 to the lower left. The print is displayed in a silver tone metal frame and a cream mat.

Born in New York City, Altman studied at the Art Students League, the Cooper Union Art School, and Black Mountain College. His works are held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Whitney Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, as well as others both in the United States and in Europe. Altman was awarded several fellowships and accolades including a Fulbright-Hayes Senior Research Fellowship, a National Institute of Arts and Letters Award, two Guggenheim Fellowships, and a National Endowment for the Arts Grant.

Condition notes:

Scratches and wear to the frame. There is a small chip in the glass that is not very visible to the lower right corner.
