A 1985 acrylic and gouache on paper painting by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Titled Abstract Landscape, this work depicts an abstracted landscape painted in pastel colors and composed of bold and broad brushwork. Signed and dated to the lower right, the painting is titled and also dated to the verso and is unframed.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
