A 1986 acrylic on canvas painting by the American artist Beatrice "Bea" Gibson (1926-2019). Signed and dated to the lower right, this work depicts a landscape with a tan stucco building and clock tower, a large fruit tree in the courtyard at the foreground, and a clear blue sky overhead. The work is displayed in a black frame.
Born in Canton, Ohio, during the 1940s Gibson studied at the Cleveland School of Art and Carnegie Mellon. In 1951, she graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago. After graduation she continued her studies in Europe as well as doing post-graduate work at the EBA School of Art in San Francisco. Gibson had several one-person shows in Florida, Chicago, and San Francisco and eventually settled in Indianapolis.
