Hajime Namiki Signed 2001 Limited Edition Woodblock of a Tree
A 2001 limited edition woodblock print of a tree by Japanese artist Hajime Namiki (born 1947). Signed, dated, titled, and numbered 94/200 to the bottom edge, the background is gold in color with a tree central to the composition. The flowers of the tree are a cherry pink with a brown trunk. A red chopmark is located to the lower right corner. The print is displayed in a wooden frame and a white and yellow double mat.
Japanese Modern and Contemporary artist Hajime Namiki studied sculpture under Shigeru Ogura during the mid 1960s and became proficient in wood block prints in the 1970s. Namiki carves his own blocks and uses traditional processes using oil-based paints to depict predominately nature scenes and trees.
