Harry Hilson Signed 1970s Batik of Birds

A 1970s batik with abstract depictions of birds by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Initialled "HH" to the lower left, the batik depicts a group of three orange, red, and yellow birds standing next to a blue body of water. The batik is displayed in a black wooden frame.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
