A 2008 art glass plate by American glass artists Jim and Sharron Barrett. The geometric plate has brightly colored shapes and patterns and is signed "Barrett '08" to the underside.
Jim and Sharron Barrett studied with the renowned glass artists of Vetrate Artische Toscane in Siena, Italy. At their studio in Germantown, Tennessee, they developed a unique process for creating inlaid glass and kiln firing gold into glass. They have won numerous awards as glass artists and have worked throughout their careers as a team without studio assistants.
Each piece of glass in the design is hand cut and after a kiln firing, which fuses the hand-cut pieces together, 22k gold is applied by hand. A second and third firing cures the gold and forms the finished piece.
