Kim Obrzut Signed 1995 “Basket Girl” Bronze Sculpture


A 1995 bronze sculpture by the Native American Hopi artist Kim Obrzut (born 1969). This bronze depicts an abstract female figure posed with a circular basket against one of its arms and wearing a turquoise style necklace. The sculpture is attached to an oval wooden base and is signed and dated to the lower edge.

Kim Obrzut is a Native American Hopi artist and sculptor. She sculpts using the scrape-and-smooth method popularized by Hopi potters. Obrzut received her degree from Northern Arizona University in Fine Arts, sculpture and bronze casting.
