A 1960 abstract chalk pastel drawing by American artist Walter Stomps, Jr. (1929-2020). Signed and dated to the lower left corner, yellow, orange, pink, blue, and green pastels are used to create a vibrant composition. The work is displayed in a black and gold tone wooden frame behind a white mat. 

Walter Stomps, Jr. was a modernist artist who explored the connectivity through music and art in his work. He rejected the rigid nature of realism, instead using color, shape, and rhythmic brushstrokes to create abstraction.

Condition notes:

Scuffs to the frame’s paint. Buckling to the paper present along the lower portion. Other age appropriate wear.
