Doris Vlasek Hails Signed 1990 “Ravel Platter” Ceramic Platter

A 1990 ceramic platter hand-painted by American artist Doris Vlasek Hails (1938-2004). Titled Ravel Platter, this colorful platter features a Postmodern design punctuated by geometric shapes. The platter is signed, titled, and dated to the underside.

Doris Vlasek-Hails was born in Chicago during an upswing of abstracted design. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Vlasek-Hails went on to teach at modern-day Herron School of Art and Design, as well as opening the Indianapolis art gallery Woodburn and Westcott Contemporary Fine Art.
