A 1960s abstract oil on canvas painting titled Encounter #9 by American artist Harry Nadler (1930-1990). Gestural brushstrokes in blue, white, black, and gray create a lyrical composition in this abstract work. Displayed in a wooden, this work is signed and titled to the verso.
Originally from California, Nadler studied at UCLA and later taught at New York University, UCLA, the University of California Los Angeles, the Brooklyn Museum Art School, Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and the University of New Mexico. Nadler exhibited widely during his lifetime and his works are held in the collections of the Guggenheim Museum, the Detroit Museum of Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy.
