June Skowronski Onesti Signed Studio Pottery Sculptural Vase

A studio pottery sculptural vase by the American artist June Skowronski Onesti (1940-2022). Signed "JSO" to the underside, the vase features a curved hook shape at the top with a tapered cylindrical body. The surface of the vessel is textured and has a large gash to each side. Triangular pieces jut out from the front and back of the neck of the vessel.
June Skowronski Onesti attended Northwestern University and continued her education at Michigan State University and the University of Wisconsin where she earned her MA and MFA. She was proficient in many art forms but found her niche in ceramics. Onesti shared her knowledge and expertise teaching in many universities including Purdue University, Indiana University, Montana State University, and Michigan State.

Condition notes:
Firing cracks present to the bottom edge and underside, as well as the top interior. Crazing present.
