June Skowronski Onesti Studio Pottery Canister

A studio pottery canister by the American artist June Skowronski Onesti (1940-2022). Signed to the underside with Onesti's cipher, this canister has a tan colored top with drip glaze accents and two handles near the lid. The bottom half of the canister has an off-white glaze with a ribbed texture.
June Skowronski Onesti attended Northwestern University and continued her education at Michigan State University and the University of Wisconsin where she earned her MA and MFA. She was proficient in many art forms but found her niche in ceramics. Onesti shared her knowledge and expertise teaching in many universities including Purdue University, Indiana University, Montana State University, and Michigan State.

Condition notes:
Chip near bottom edge, top edge, and a chip to one of the handles. Some crazing present.
