An embossed intaglio print by the American artist Martin Barooshian (1929-2022). Titled Pelicans, this abstract work has a medallion at the upper center with pelicans as well as three pelicans flying in the background. Signed, titled, numbered 2/2 to the lower edge, the print is displayed in a black frame and a white mat.
Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Barooshian studied art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston as well as receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education from Tufts University and a Master's degree in Art History from Boston University. He also studied at Atelier 17 in Paris under Stanley William Hayter. Barooshian taught at the Pratt Institute and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. His works are in the collections of the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York's Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
