A serigraph print by the American artist Paul Chidlaw (1900-1989). This abstract print consists of red streaks against a white background. The piece is framed in a black frame with a white mat and is estate stamped verso.
Born in Cleves, Ohio, Chidlaw was primarily known as an Abstract Expressionist artist. After studying at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Chidlaw moved to France where he was able to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Fountainbleau and later under the tutelage of the artists Jean Despujols and Andre L'Hote in Paris. After returning to the United States, he worked as a WPA artist painting murals and after WWII, he began teaching at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
