An oil paint and chalk pastel on canvas painting by the Japanese-American artist Reiko Sakagami Baum (1927-2021). Yellow and black softly intermingle in this Abstract Expressionist mixed media painting. Unsigned, the painting is displayed in black wooden frame.
Lifelong artist, Reiko Sakagami Baum was originally from Japan and was known for painting. She attended art school in New York where she met her future artist husband, Michael Baum. The Baum's owned a framing company before becoming the owners and horse breeders of Man O' War Farm in Lexington, KY, where they lived out their lives.

Condition notes:
Some scuffs to frame. Water damage to canvas and stretcher verso. Painting has been repaired including three patches. Slight indent from stretcher visible to face of painting.
