Frederick Warren 1981 Art Glass Vase

A 1981 art glass vase by American artist Frederick Warren (born 1951). This transparent, iridescent vase features a seashell-like shape. It is signed and dated to the underside.  

Frederick Warren works primarily with pottery, drawn to the utilitarian and aesthetic functions of the form. He received his engineering PhD from Northwestern University and worked as a social scientist at the Urban Institute in Washington, DC before pivoting to his career in art. He has worked in his Warrenton, VA studio since 1989, alongside his wife, Catherine White. His work has been featured in the International Museum of Ceramic Art, Renwick Gallery (Smithsonian American Art Museum), and the Middle Street Gallery in Washington, VA.
