A 1982 abstract etching by the American artist Art Hansen (1929-2017). Titled Fisherman in a Rainstorm, the print depicts a figure in a boat during a heavy rainfall. The abstracted rain creates straight diagonal lines across the composition. Displayed in a black frame and behind a white mat, the work is signed, dated, titled, and numbered 55/250 across the bottom edge.
Art Hansen received his BFA in 1952 from the University of Washington. That year, he had his first solo show at the Seattle Art Museum. Hansen continued his education, receiving a Fulbright grant to study etching at the Munich Academy of Arts. He graduated with his MFA in 1957 from the University of Minnesota.
