A 1969 limited edition serigraph by the American artist Ernest Trova (1927-2009). This abstract work is from one of Trova's Manscape series and depicts an abstract form in shades of yellow, purple, gray, and red. Signed and dated to the lower right, the print is displayed in a silver tone metal frame and a white mat.
Born in Clayton, Missouri, Trova was a self-taught artist who became best known for his Falling Man series of works. He started out working as a window dresser and decorator at a St. Louis department store but at the age of 20, he was awarded first prize at the Missouri Exhibition, an art contest hosted by what is now the St. Louis Art Museum. After that, Trova began exhibiting his work at the Pace Gallery in New York and museums such as London's Tate and New York's Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum began acquiring his works.
