A 1980s abstract serigraph print titled Flowers 6 by the American artist Knox Martin (1923-2022). This print features abstract shapes, some flower-like, in bright shades of yellow, pink, blue and orange. Unframed, this piece is signed and numbered 48/300 to the lower edge.
Knox Martin was born in Columbia in 1923 and Attended the Art Students League of New York after WWII. His first solo exhibition took place at the Charles Eagan gallery in 1954. He taught at the Yale Graduate School of the Arts and New York University. His work does not fit under a specific category of style, but is often associated with Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism and color field painting.
