A trompe l'oiel oil on canvas painting by the Russian-Israeli artist Yacov Feldman (born 1969). This painting depicts a square profile portrait of a young woman above a matchbox and match on a deep gold background. The painting is unframed and signed verso.
Born in 1969 in Vitebsk, Byelorussia Yacov Feldman studied at the Art College in Vitebsk and later at the Academy of Textile Design in Vitebsk. He immigrated to Israel in 1990. He had solo exhibitions in Paris, Jerusalem, and Santa Fe among others and participated in group exhibitions in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, Los Angeles, Paris, and Hague.
