Yuji Hiratsuka 1989 “Rose Man” Intaglio Print

A 1989 limited edition intaglio print titled Rose Man by Japanese artist Yuji Hiratsuka (born 1954). The colorful print depicts a profiled figure against a patterned background. The figure holds a pink rose in his hands. The print is presented behind a green mat and green metal frame. The piece is marked "A.P", dated, titled, and signed to the bottom edge of the print.

Yuji Hiratsuka received his BS from Tokyo Gakugei University, an MA in printmaking from New Mexico State University, and an MFA in printmaking from Indiana University. His works are in the collections of The British Museum, Cincinnati Art Museum, Cleveland Museum of Art, The Library of Congress, and The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art, among others.
