Carlo Forcolini Artemide “Nestore Lettura” Postmodern Cantilever Floor Lamp

A Postmodern Nestore Lettura cantilever table lamp designed by Italian designer Carlo Forcolini (born 1947) for Artemide. Designed in 1989, the black matte lamp features a round, moveable plastic shade that covers a single socket. The shade is raised on a slender and slightly curved arm with a silver tone counter weight ball. The round base allows for a 360 degree swivel with horizontal and vertical arm movement. There is a floor switch, as well as a dimmer switch on the body of the lamp. The base is marked to the underside. 

Italian designer Carlo Forcolini graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan in 1969.  Over many years Forcolini worked as a product designer for Alias, Amar Collezioni, Artemide, Caimi, Cassina, De Padova, Futura, Gervasoni, Luceplan, Merotto Milani, Nemo, OY light, Pomellato, Valenti, and Zumbtobel.  He also participated in the creation of many exhibitions and was included in many national and international publications regarding his sensational works.
