Laura Andreson 1972 Studio Pottery Vase

A 1973 studio pottery vase by American ceramicist Laura Andreson (1902-1999). This vase features a gradient of light green and blue to the exterior. The body of the vase has a conical shape and a tapered neck. It is signed “Laura Andreson 72” to the underside.
Laura Andreson graduated from UCLA summa cum laude in 1932 with degree in education. She went on to teach in UCLA's art department, where she founded the ceramics program, from 1933 to 1970. This was the first formal ceramics program of its kind in the United States. Her work was included in exhibitions and collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian Museum of American Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
