Illustrated in bright orange over gray upon a blue and green ground, Hilson depicted himself as a flower with an intense gaze and heavy brow and beard. Unframed, the painting is titled, signed, and dated to the bottom.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
