A 1950s porcelain Zbur bison or bull figurine designed by Polish sculptor and industrial designer Mieczyslaw Naruszewicz (1923-2006) for Cmielow. Made in Poland, this stylized barrel-chested black and white bull stands tall with head and tail tucked. A white circular pattern accents the black glaze. 

Mieczyslaw Naruszewicz studied at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in Poland. Early in his career, Naruszewicz designed animal figures at the Department of Ceramics and Glass with a talented team. Further into his career he designed transportation modalities and household appliances. His works are held at the Museum of History of the Polish Revolutionary Movement in Warsaw, the National Museum in Wroclaw, and many private collections.
