Alain Le Chatelier 2005 Acrylic on Canvas Still Life of Fruit

A 2005 acrylic on canvas still life painting by the French artist Alain Le Chatelier (born 1952). This whimsical painting has a detailed composition of an overflowing basket of fruit sitting on the sill of an open window. A lamp illuminates part of the fruit bowl while outside of the window is a snowy, winter scene. Displayed in a black wooden frame, the painting is signed and dated the work to the base of the left window. 

Alain Le Chatelier studied at the Met de Penninghen and the Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1970s. He is inspired by the vibrant North African colors that he experienced as a child growing up in Morocco. He is inspired by his environment, paying close attention to every detail of his surroundings and capturing the essence of real life.
