A 1961 watercolor and ink painting by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Painted predominantly in purple and pink, this abstract work depicts a sailboat amidst an array of overlapping designs and lines. Signed and dated to the lower center, the painting is displayed in a metal frame and a cream mat.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.

Condition notes:

Scratches and scuffs to the frame finish. Some waviness/buckling to paper. Minor bleed through visible from drawing verso.
