A 1980s acrylic on paper painting by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Titled American One, this abstract painting depicts a vibrant purple, green, and blue landscape with wispy clouds above and a dark row of trees in the background. Signed to the lower right, the painting is titled to the lower left and is unframed.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
