Harry Hilson Signed 1984 Abstract Mixed Media Painting

A 1984 mixed media painting by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Signed and dated to the lower right, the painting depicts layers of bold color in red, orange, green, blue and brown. The painting is displayed in a black frame and a white mat.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
