An abstract batik by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). From the artist's Structure Series, this work features a blue geometric shape against a yellow marbled background. Signed to the lower right, the batik is displayed in a black frame.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.

16.25” x 18.25” x 2.25” (frame); 15” x 17” (batik).
Condition notes:
Age appropriate wear. Some scratches to the frame. The stretcher is visible through the lighter sections of the batik. There is a seam line with small pin-size holes where thread once was running near the center of the batik.
