A mixed media painting by Israeli artist Nissan Engel (1931-2016). Metallic paint, paper, and fabric are layered to create a rich and textural composition in this collage. Strips of sheet music, patterned paper scraps, lace, and heavy impasto paint are used throughout the composition. Signed to the lower right, the piece has a white fabric lined mat and gold tone wooden frame.
Nissan Engel was a mixed media artist born in Haifa, Israel who started his career as an artist studying at the Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem. He became known for his unique style of collage.
