An abstract serigraph by American artist Paul Chidlaw (1900-1989). The serigraph depicts an abstract mix of blue, green, orange, yellow, and purple repeated dots. The serigraph is presented behind a navy mat in a wooden frame with the artist's estate stamp verso.
Born in Cleves, Ohio, Chidlaw was primarily known as an Abstract Expressionist artist. After studying at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Chidlaw moved to France where he was able to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Fountainbleau and later under the tutelage of the artists Jean Despujols and Andre L'Hote in Paris. After returning to the United States, he worked as a WPA artist painting murals and after WWII, he began teaching at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
