A 2004 acrylic on canvas still life painting by the French artist Alain Le Chatelier (born 1952). This highly detailed painting has a whimsical composition with overflowing mounds of fruit. Vibrant shades of purple, red, and blue highlight the various berries, plums, and melon. The painting is displayed in a gold-tone and black wooden frame and signed and dated near the right edge.
Alain Le Chatelier studied at the Met de Penninghen and the Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1970s. He is inspired by the vibrant North African colors that he experienced as a child growing up in Morocco. He is inspired by his environment, paying close attention to every detail of his surroundings and capturing the essence of real life.
